Your holiday is a chance for a well-earned rest, so follow these tips to make the most of your time.
- Slow Down. Lots of people try to fit into many activities, planning a packed itinerary. If this rings a bell, slow down and plan to spend more time exploring fewer destinations and remember less is more!
- Don’t Place Too Much Faith in Restaurant Reviews. A dining experience that satisfies other people might not be right for you. Instead, it can be more enjoyable to wander around, read the menus, or even politely ask a friendly local to point you in the direction of their favourite restaurant.
- Hire a Guide. Independent travel is great, but sometimes hiring a guide can help to make the most of a destination, and especially if you are in a location for a very short while or in a country where you don’t speak the language.
- Think about Travelling Off-Peak. Popular tourist attractions can be packed during the height of the season but visiting at other times can be quieter and cheaper. If you must visit during this time, plan ahead. Contact must-see attractions and find out the busiest times and plan accordingly.
