Veneers are porcelain or resin covers used to cosmetically enhance your teeth and smile. Your choice of shade is taken and teeth are prepared to have the veneers placed over the front of the tooth.
Crowns, Bridges and Veneers are completed in 2 to 3 appointments.
Composite resin veneers are usually fabricated chairside, during a single appointment. A suitable shade is chosen by our dentist, and the material is applied directly to the tooth. Once applied, the material is hardened, shaped and polished to create a natural-looking lustre. Often little or no tooth preparation is required, and treatment is non-invasive and cost-effective.
Porcelain veneers are fabricated indirectly or outside your mouth. First, your teeth are prepared by removing a small amount of tooth enamel. This ensures your new veneers look and feel natural and aren’t too bulky. Next, a detailed dental impression is taken of your teeth so your veneers can be custom-made in a dental laboratory. The veneers are fitted and bonded onto your teeth during your next appointment. Porcelain veneers are longer-lasting than composite resin veneers, and they will not stain or discolour, but they do cost a little more.
